Well Hello everyone... It's me! Monique!

What do you even write on these about pages?
How old I am? I'm 33.
How long have I been doing this? I got my first camera when I was 15.
Am I married? Yup! Together for 10 years now!
Children? Growing one right now! A Boy! With two more frozen!
What do my days look like? Mostly, just running around trying to do a million things all at once; remodeling a house, nesting for a child, prepping to be a parent, location scouting, client correspondence, brainstorming for business, shooting, editing, blogging, camping as much as possible, crossfit, meal prepping, trying to keep my lawn from dying every summer, cleaning up after my 120 lb. dog - Kushie Bear - who only seems to drool  ON EVERYTHING, trying to get my husbands attention constantly (really it's never enough. I always want more time with him. He's truly my best friend and keeps me laughing when I need it most), and pretty much always wishing I had more hours in a day.
What about my down time? Well, i'm not gonna lie, i'm like a go 100 miles an hour girl and then crash for a bit. I've accepted my natural cycle and that happens to be it LOL. I love t.v. for downtime. I'm a huge fan of Friends, Sopranos, MadMen, The Office, Parks and Rec, and recently Handmaid's Tale - OMG so good! But t.v. watching isn't complete without a tub of Monkey Wrench ice cream in one hand and possibly a box of cookies or a pan of brownies, and don't forget the popcorn!

What about business? What would you like to know?
What's your favorite type of session? That's pretty easy, it comes down to my clients. My favorite sessions are the ones where everyone can just let go and have fun together. Photo sessions do not have to be serious, they're really fun!
What started you on this path? My father loved photography, though he never did it professionally, he was inspired by the world around him and capturing his loved ones everywhere he went. I contribute a lot of my passion to him. Also, my grandfather videotaped everything! I even have my entire birth on video tape!
How long have you been in business? I launched a successful business in 2015 and officially starting taking paying clients.
What's the most exciting thing that's happened with your business? I was hired by Young Living Essential Oils in 2019 to document a service project building schools in Pokhara, Nepal. This project and experience changed my life forever. I witnessed true poverty and a shocking amount of joy and love. The children I shared those weeks with will live in my heart forever. On my way, I traveled through Doha, Qatar and spent an evening walking through tiny alley's filled with hundreds of shops and vendors that offered anything you could think of; clothes, spices, food, trinkets, animals, and so many sights, smells and sounds of a whole different world.
What's been the most challenging moment in your career? The most difficult experience for me... documenting a still born. She was almost full term and at 8 months was brought to the realization that she had lost her child. She had to go through child birth knowing her baby was already gone. I kept it together as best as I could but I just sobbed when I saw how beautiful their Tommy boy was and felt the heartbreak of a mother. Editing the images was even harder, reliving the moment over and over, perfecting the only memories this family would have of their son.
I still cry about it today.

I'm sure their are so many more questions I could get asked and try to answer,
so, if you have any and want to more..... contact me!

    Ask me anything!
